We are pleased to share the latest press release from Pallini Limoncello! This exquisite Italian liqueur is one of the latest additions to our portfolio of fine spirits we import and distribute in Cyprus.
Pallini Limoncello on the rise: the iconic liqueur is now the world’s number 1 selling brand. A success story of a family-owned company.
Rome’s oldest distillery conquers the top with its leading liqueur, with sales growing thanks to international expansion and the strategy focused on the Spritz cocktail.
Rome, 27th June 2024 – The historic Roman company is experiencing an unstoppable and global growth thanks to its leading product, Pallini Limoncello, with an increase in sales of 66% over the last four years, more than double the industry average, which is in itself achieving highly positive results: from 2019 to 2023 the category saw a 31% increase in sales worldwide, despite the pandemic.
These are the numbers that allowed Pallini Limoncello to reach a key milestone: in 2024, it has become the world’s best-selling Limoncello by volume and value, with a global market share of around 15%. A remarkable achievement, forasmuch as, for years, it has already been the most premium brand, with an average value of 45% higher than the entire category.
The markets that have responded exceptionally well to this product in recent years are Germany, United Kingdom, and the Duty-Free and Travel Retail channel, where Pallini Limoncello has grown by 30%. There has also been considerable ferment in most of the remaining 80 countries in the world where the brand is already active with initiatives focused on the Spritz cocktail.
This strategy opens the door to the use of Limoncello in mixology, a trend that is gaining ground worldwide. Limoncello is establishing itself as an aperitif thanks to its versatility in the preparation of cocktails. With its freshness, it can give an extra twist to the Spritz, offering an extraordinary version of this great classic and riding the global popularity of the Italian aperitif.
“Pallini Limoncello is not only the pride of our product portfolio, but as of this year, it is also the leading Limoncello in the world: an important recognition that confirms the success of our marketing strategy” – comments Micaela Pallini, Pallini CEO and President of Federvini – “In the coming years, we will
continue to expand the brand in both established and new markets as well as in the mixology segment”. Made from the finest Costa d’Amalfi PGI lemons, hand-picked on the enchanted Amalfi Coast, Pallini is the new way of drinking Limoncello.
While preparing the company’s 150th anniversary in 2025, Pallini Limoncello presents a new, eye catching packaging, in line with the tradition and with an even more iconic Italian look & feel.
